Park-Rec. Winter Activity Brochures are now available on or may be picked up at the Park-Rec. Office, local banks and fitness centers, Decorah Library, and Decorah Chamber of Commerce. Christmas at Luther 2014: 'And on Earth, Peace' album available on Dec. 18

Luther College Recordings is proud to announce the newest album from the Luther College Music Department, "Christmas at Luther 2014: And on Earth, Peace." The annual installment of the Christmas at Luther soundtracks is available now as pre-order through the Luther College Book Shop at or by phone (888) 521-5039. Historic Preservationists Needed

The Decorah Historic Preservation Commission, an advisory board to the City Council, has openings for new members. The Commission meets monthly and does not require a heavy workload. Its role is advisory and educational. Please contact Mark Z. Muggli, secretary, for further information.

Decorah Park-Rec.Turkey Basketball Shoot


The 32nd Annual Decorah Park-Rec. Turkey Shoot will be held Monday, November 10, from 7:00 to 8:30 pm in the Decorah High School Gym. In this fun family event, a parent and child team up, combine their ages to determine their competition bracket and each shoot 10 free throws in an attempt to win a certificate for a free turkey. There are special shooting arrangements for youngsters.

'With Word and Song' traveling art display at Luther College Massachusetts artist Sandra Bowden featured in exhibit beginning Oct. 24

An exhibit of mixed-media art that incorporates elements from Biblical texts, ancient Hebrew, and musical facsimilies will be on display Oct. 24 – Dec. 7, in the upper level of Luther College's Center for Faith and Life.
